Message from Coach Dennis:

Dear Swimmers and Swim Team Parents,

Congratulations to everyone who swam Saturday and posted legal times to qualify for the divisional meet.

Thank you to all the parents who worked multiple shifts during Saturday’s meet. Several families came to volunteer even though their children did not swim. Everyone’s cooperation was extremely appreciated.

The decision to swim on Saturday was not made without much discussion and consideration. As with most difficult decisions, there was not a concrete way to guarantee the decision made would be correct. Therefore, to participate or not was a decision made by each family and those decisions were understood by the coaching staff.

Divisionals is our last meet and the cumulation of man hours of work by the swimmers, coaches, and parents. Your children will not realize the impact that this season made in their lives for many years. I am very pleased with the progress made by all the swimmers but especially the new swimmers on the team. The coaches have done a great job of helping each child to maximize his/her potential.

Parents: please help all the swimmers at our divisional meet experience a competition that they will remember for years. The swim committee and especially Anne Judge, our Divisional Committee Chairperson, has been planning this event for months. Now you must step up and do your part by volunteering.

By helping, you will enjoy the day more and will experience a sense of accomplishment. Please sign up and help Holly Beemer plan her volunteers early in the week.

The divisional awards and senior speeches are Saturday night beginning at 5:30pm. Please make every effort to attend this special event.

Winter Swimming forms have been sent to all families participating last winter. New families wishing to participate may find a sign up sheet at the canteen.

I would like to send a sincere thank you to everyone who has participated on the team this summer. Again, it has been a privilege to coach this fine group of swimmers.

Thanks,

Dennis
