Upcoming Meet 6/6/26: Sudley vs. Meadowbrook @ Meadowbrook

Warmups: 6:30am
Meet start: 7:00am

15 & over Freestyle Relay will be called at 6:45am. Any swimmer not there will be replaced.

Meadowbrook Pool Facility Information:
Address: 13200 Superior Ct. Manassas, VA 20112

Parking: There is no general parking by the pool. Clubhouse parking is only available to cars with pre-arranged passes.

Street parking is available in the adjacent neighborhood. Parking is at a premium, and Meadowbrook asks both residents and visitors to follow the parking instructions, which enable traffic flow and safety for all residents and visitors:

  • Respect driveways and mailboxes, leaving sufficient space for homeowners and mail carriers.
  • Do not park in front of or within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
  • Do not park within 15 feet of an intersection. This allows larger vehicles (fire trucks) to turn and also allows for greater visibility for turning vehicles.
  • Park with all wheels off of the main roadway. Some of our streets are narrow, and we want to keep them open for traffic.

Visiting Team Setup: Seahorses may set up in the grassy area in the circle in front of the clubhouse.

Message from Coach Dennis:

Dear Swimmers and Parents,

It is so good to have so many new families join the swim team this year. Whether your child is in the 8&under or 15-18 age group, we are excited to have them on the team. I cannot guarantee you that your child will develop into an Olympic swimmer, but I do know the following:

  1. Your child will meet many children and develop lasting friendships;
  2. Your child will be a significantly better swimmer at the season’s end;
  3. Your child will have fun!

I am asked at times by parents, “What can I do to help my child become a better swimmer?” and my answer will usually be the same: be a consistent practice participant, and utilize the stroke clinics to reinforce concepts taught in practice.

Our first ribbon ceremony will be held on Saturday afternoon. If you have not attended one of these, this ceremony recognizes each child for his/her accomplishments at the meet. It is also a time to receive information about upcoming events and to learn about the club. Often we share news concerning our swimmers not related to swimming that is important to that child.

Sudley is saddened by a season-ending injury to Ellie Walls. She tore her ACL and will not be able to swim; however, when able, she will be helping to coach with me.

Night practice will begin June 15th. This practice time is for swimmers who can not make morning practice due to conflicts or for swimmers wanting extra help. Night practice is not for swimmers electing to not come to morning practice without a valid reason.

Night practice times:
10&under: 5:15-6:00
11&up: 6:00-7:00

Please remember all swimmers will be assigned new practice lanes starting June 15th. Please arrive to practice by 8:45 this day to find your new lane so that we can start on time.
Each lane will award swimmer of the week awards each Friday. To be considered, swimmers must be punctual and present every day.
Best,
Coach Dennis
