Time Trials & Meet Sign out Procedures
Don't forget to download the Swimtopia App to receive push notifications and live updates during time trials and the meets!
Time Trials are this Saturday, May 30.
Arrive at 7:15 am. You may sit in the pool area.
There will be warm ups and the events will begin at 8:00 am.
Please make every effort to attend time trials, especially for the younger swimmers. This gives Dennis baseline times to help with entries and relay planning. Swimmers who attend time trials are eligible for achievement ribbons after the first meet if they drop time. It is also a good time to refresh and practice meet procedures!
If you cannot attend time trials, you do not need to sign out. If you’re able, there is a binder in the canteen to record times on your own before May 30. You can borrow a stopwatch from the canteen.
Sport Fair will be set up in the game room from 8-11 am offering team suits, goggles, and other great items!
Meet Sign Out Procedures
There is a binder the canteen with pages for every meet. If you cannot attend a swim meet, please write each swimmer’s name on the page for the meet you will miss. You must sign out by 8:00 pm on the Saturday before the meet. This cannot be done over the phone.
For example, if you cannot attend the first meet on June 6, you must sign out by THIS Saturday, May 30.
Why so early?
- Dennis creates the entries on Sunday. This takes several hours, since we have 200 swimmers and up to 600 entries allowed.
- Our computer team puts the entries into the computer Monday - Tuesday.
- We post the draft of the entries on Tuesday or Wednesday. Please check for mistakes!
- On Wednesday, you must let Dennis know if there are any mistakes or changes needed.
- Entries are final on Thursday for all competing teams.
What if my child is sick on the day of the meet?
- Please let Dennis, Katie Condon, or Holly Beemer know as soon as possible so we have time to adjust relays and let the clerk of course and our parking lot callers know not to look for them.
- Please let Holly Bemmer or your volunteer team lead know if you cannot fulfill your shift. You can double up shifts at the next meet to meet your 7 shift requirement.
- If your plans to attend the meet change, we understand, but please let us know as soon as possible! There are many moving pieces especially for relays that are time consuming to adjust on an already busy meet morning.
