The swim team committee, Dennis, and the staff are already at work planning for another summer of fun at Sudley. A preliminary calendar of events is available when you sign in to your Swimtopia account.

Swim Team registration will open March 23, with early bird pricing through April 12.

     We have been so incredibly fortunate to have Dennis as our head coach and club manager. His dedication to Sudley is not only in his time and attention to detail, but also in his personal sacrifice to keep costs down for members. Dennis does not receive any extra compensation for his time coaching, and he hasn't taken a pay raise from the club in many years. As we look toward the future, the swim team is anticipating and trying to prepare for a significant increase in expenses once Dennis retires (no date yet). Most swim teams hire and pay a head coach and assistant adult coaches to run their summer programs. After reading the information below, we hope you see the overwhelming value and benefit the swim team is for you and your family. We remain dedicated to offering quality instruction and coaching, fun activities, and a wholesome summer experience.

For 2026, our registration fees will remain the same as they were in 2025.

Here is a breakdown of the value of the $150 early bird registration fee:

• 3 raffle tickets $25 (team’s biggest fundraiser) - raffle ticket prices have not been raised since before 2000, likely longer
• $20 concession supply fee - has not been raised in many years despite increased costs to purchase food
• T shirt $10
• Speedo Silicone Cap $14
• League registration/Swimtopia fee $12
• End of Year personalized Plaque $20
• 2 team picnics + team socials expenses $23 est (large supplement for teen dinner, supplement for bowling trip, glow night investment and consumables, popsicles/candy & cards, Divisional Spirit week supplies)

After these expenses, it leaves only $26 to cover Practice/Coaching time and shared expenses/investments

($26/74 hours = basically paying $0.35 per hour for 74 hours of practice, not including meets and shared expenses)

• Practice 14 hours (est) after school
• Practice 60 hours (est) during the main summer - small ratio coaches:swimmers

Shared Expenses

• 46+ hours of coaches time for time trials & meets
• Purchase of Ribbons
• Purchase of Swimmer of the week caps
• Reimbursement to the club for teen and assistant coaches’ hours
• Equipment costs/investment (lane ropes, kick boards, flags, stop watches, computer equipment, meet set up)
• Police Crosswalk security for home swim meet
• Senior Scholarships
• And more

Since registration is not a significant source of income to the team, the success of these efforts listed below is very important.

• Concessions
• Divisional t shirt profits
• Divisional ad profits

• Regular: $200         April 13 - April 26
• Late: $225              April 27 - May 17
